From the Desk of Eric…

Over the past 40+ years, I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to work in virtually all of the various positions at Bergwall Productions. I find it easy to say that I “grew-up” in “The Business.” Eric Bergwall is currently:

  • Married for 24 fantastic years with four (4) children
  • Member of our Church and Youth Group Assistant
  • Coach of youth Lacrosse/Basketball/Soccer for 15 years
I’m proud to be able to say that Bergwall Productions, Inc. is celebrating 40 years of supplying Instructors, all over the world, with the high-quality instructional Courses they demand.

Staying Current

Over the years, I’ve learned the importance of staying current with various emerging technologies.  And understanding how to apply these technologies to the benefit of our customers was always the goal.   I strongly believe it’s important to continually pursue the improvement of Bergwall’s Courses.  It is the results of these efforts to capitalize on new technologies, by ultimately incorporating their advantages into Bergwall’s various production processes and Course design, which has consistently led Bergwall to achieve the industry’s highest customer-satisfaction ratings.

Paradigm Shifts

Personally, I’ve enjoyed guiding Bergwall Productions through several industry-wide paradigm shifts and changes in the market.  And as a result, Bergwall’s ability to adjust and adapt over these past 25 years has earned Bergwall Productions an industry-wide reputation for producing high-quality Courses that are meticulously written, always accurate and professionally produced. With the arrival of VHS Video, in the early 1980’s, many of my competitors were satisfied with simply transferring their existing library of Filmstrips onto VHS Video Tape.  But not Bergwall.  I’m proud of the results of my efforts that were responsible for the design and creation of the Bergwall’s “First Profitable” Live-Action Video, entitled: AutoCAD: An Introduction. Now if you’re wondering why, in the previous sentence, “…“First Profitable” is capitalized and in quotes?”  Well, you’ll have to ask me personally, and I’ll tell you why – but that is a long story for another time.

Vision

Vision helped to facilitate Bergwall to better understand and incorporate the full benefits and features of “Live-Action Video” as compared to “Filmstrips”.  Vision of the full benefits of Live-Action Video” enabled Bergwall to ultimately create the countless award-winning Video-Based Courses… which ultimately have become Bergwall’s hallmark. Guiding Bergwall Productions into the Digital Age is another accomplishment for which I’m proud.  I thoroughly enjoyed the process of acquiring the necessary understanding of various technologies and how to apply them to our in-house production processes to produce Bergwall’s first CD-based Courses featuring ‘eye-popping’ MPEG Video demonstrations. Most recently, I’ve just completed the design and creation of Bergwall’s Brand New Online Courses.  And once again, we’re positioned to lead the industry.  These professionally produced Online Courses including Bergwall’s famous high-quality digital Video Clips.  In addition, the Online Courses incorporate the full array of Online Course tools featuring simplified usability including Pre-and Post-Tests.

Making “The Rounds”

As a teenager, I fondly recall “Making the Rounds” with Bill Walling…my Grandfather. Bill was in charge of Sales, including County, State and National Conventions and Conferences. Bill and I would load up the car with all of our convention supplies and product samples and suitcases…and drive… and drive… and drive some more.  We started out from Garden City NY. And we would drive to our first conference, which was always in Indiana.  Then we’d drive on to conferences in Missouri, then Arkansas, Texas, Georgia, the Carolina’s, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and finally… wed go home. “Making the Rounds” usually took up most of the summer months throughout my teenage years.  However, I really enjoyed spending the time with “Bill”…  my Grandfather… and I learned a lot!  Throughout his many years in sales, Bill earned a reputation as the one of the friendliest, nicest and funniest salesmen who “Made the Rounds”.  For example, when for the first time, we would walk into a convention center, everyone would say hello to Bill.  It always kind of reminded me of that TV Series called CHEERS when everyone would shout out “Norm!” whenever he walked into the Bar.  Those were truly great times!

Quality

Charles Bergwall, (CB) the founder of Bergwall Productions, is also my father.  And I’ve been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work side-by-side with CB over these 25+ years.  And while I’ve learned many, many lessons….  the BIG one CB made sure I fully understood was the importance of applying the principle of making sure that QUALITY is the driving force in all we do at Bergwall Productions.
